On Saturday, August 8th 2009, the Long Island Skyhawks hosted our annual Warbirds meet. We had a blast, perfect weather. Nick Ziroli Jr dropped in with 2 Stearmans and a Cub, and they treated us to a spectacular tandem fly-by and spent some time with us before departing. One of our members insisted on trying to fit my 1/3 scale Cub into his Prius.. just to see if it would fit. I guess he'd have to strap the wings to the roof. Now, THAT'S freakin NUTS! Sal Calvagnah debuted his Russian 'Rata' I-16, it handily won 'Pilots Choice'. Beautiful scratch build, Sal! Congrats!
